Ernest Ross

Ernest is married to Ruby Smith Ross. They have two children Christopher Steven Ross and Kimberly Dawn Lewis and two grandchildren. He is a Deacon at Pisgah Baptist Church in Rice, Virginia and also sings in the Church Choir. Ernest is also a member of the Farmville Volunteer Fire Department. He has been affiliated with Shorter Funeral Home for over 40 years

Morgan Borum

Morgan is married to Susan Hogan Borum. They have three children Morgan Jr., Emily and Olivia Borum. Their family resides in Meherrin, VA. Morgan has been affiliated with Shorter Funeral Home most of his life helping his father, Tommy Borum, as a child.

Lindy Hamlett
Staff
Lindy Hamlett joined the staff of Shorter Funeral Home in 2008. He is married to Wanda C. Hamlett. They have three children; Lynn East, Curtis Hamlett and Margie Agee.They also have three grandchildren. His hobbies are raising a garden for family and friends and attending sporting events at Hampden Sydney College. He is an Elder and Trustee of Hampden Sydney College Church. He serves as the Chairman of the ASC County Committee in Prince Edward County and is also the Vice-President of the Prince Edward Farm Bureau. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Ruritan Club and is the Past Noble Grand of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows Lodge 290.

Clyde Garrett, Jr.

Clyde is married to Janice Garrett. He is retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 22 years of service. His hobbies include working on cars, fishing and Bluegrass Music. He attends Farmville Presbyterian Church. He helped Mr. Shorter for many years when needed. Clyde still continues to serve here on our staff at Shorter Fuenral Home

Sidney J. Allen

Sidney J. Allen joined the staff of Shorter Funeral Home in October 2010. His association with Shorter Funeral Home dates way back. Sidney's parents, Billy and Rochie Allen were life long friends of Charles R. Shorter Jr. Sidney has offered his services in various ways through out the years. His interest include: travel, sports and the arts.
