James Jared “Jimmy” Huddleston, 91, of Farmville, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his home.

He was the son of the late Thomas R. and Mildred Simmons Huddleston and was an employee of
Ayers Building Supply.  He was also a member of Gideon International and a life-long member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife Louise Coates Huddleston, son, Lawrence R. Huddleston (Janice) and daughter, Linda H. Librandi (Ray) all of Farmville, three sisters: Louvenia Corr, Hazel Olson and Helen Price, one brother, Thomas A. Huddleston, five grandchildren: Janet Petticord, Donald “Donnie” Bales, Becky Ward, Carol Bales, and Thomas “Cody” Huddleston, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two step-daughters, Melinda Wordeman (Steve) of Florence, KY and Kathy Cormier (Jay) of Pilot Mountain, NC, two step-sons, Anthony Owen (Meriam) of Kernersville, NC and Jonathan Owen of Jarrat, thirteen step-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Shoemaker Huddleston, daughter, Dorothy Bales, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Gideon International or Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Jimmy was a person whose inner light shone brightly for all to see. He was kind and caring, and the world is better place for having been influenced by his time spend here. It was my pleasure to have worked with him, and I am deeply sorry for your loss.
