Alvin Alley

Alvin P. Alley, 80, of Columbia, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Alley was born in Richmond, November 24, 1930 to the late Andrew Jackson and Eva Blanche Smoot Alley. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was retired as a Glazier.

Survivors include his wife Floy Gross Alley of Columbia, seven children: Joyce Ann Morrison (Charles) of Henrico County, Alvin E. Alley of Goochland, William Andrew Alley (Lori) of Lynchburg, Carol Lee West (William) of Glen Allen, Wayne Robert Alley (Theresa) of Sanston, Jason E. Alley of Sanston and Linda I. Alley of Cumberland, two sisters: Ruth Seay of Louisa and Clara Trivette of Powhatan, one brother, Earl J. Alley of Richmond , 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
