Mr. Bennett Lee “Benny” McKay, Sr. age 49 of Cumberland, VA passed away Tuesday June 12, 2012 in Cumberland. He is survived by; his wife Candice C. McKay, his sons, Bennett Lee McKay Jr.  Angela and John C. McKay both of Farmville, VA, Dale A. McKay (Kaitliyn) of Meherrin, VA, his daughter Sierra J. McKay of Cumberland, VA, his grandchildren; Aliyah R. McKay, Shane A. McKay, Dale A. McKay, Jr. and Kyliegh McKay, his father and step-mother Charles W. McKay, Sr. and Patsy McKay of Farmville, VA, his brothers, Charles W. “Billy” McKay, Jr. (Maureen) of Prospect, VA and Christopher C. “Chris” McKay of Farmville, and his step-brothers, William T. “Todd” Thompson (Natalie) of Pamplin, VA and Jody S. Thompson (Lisa) of Forest, VA.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Shorter Funeral Home 1905 S. Main Street Farmville, VA,  where funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Saturday June 16, 2012 in the chapel. Interment will be private.
