Betty “Jean” Barton, age 85 of Keysville, VA passed away on May 20, 2026 at Centra Hospital in Farmville, VA.
Jean was born July 26, 1940 in Norfolk, VA to her parents David and Betty Pugh. She is survived by two sons Charles P. Barton Jr and David F. Barton and husband Pete Martinez, one daughter Elizabeth A Seabaugh. Her devoted sister Kitty Pugh, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her adopted daughter Miaya Haley and family and her faithful cousin Darlene Pick.
Jean loved her home on the farm, the great outdoors, gardening, farming and her cats. Her favorite hobbies consist of bowling with her favorite bowling ball and her paintings.
She will be buried alongside her husband Charles P. Barton Sr at the Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA. Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
