Charles Edward Baldwin, 78, loving husband of Betty Lou Baldwin, passed away peacefully at his home in Cumberland County, Virginia, August 30, 2014. He was the son of the late Wallace and Hallie Baldwin of Rice, Virginia and was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete, Wallace, and Billy Baldwin.

Charles drove a truck for the NEHI Bottling Company of Farmville before becoming a dispatcher for the Farmville Police Department.  He moved to Woodbridge Virginia where he was Supervisor of Shuttle Buses at the National Airport until he retired and moved back home to Farmville.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Lou Baldwin, two sons, Charles Baldwin Jr. (Windy) of Rice, Terry Baldwin (Jennifer) of Tuggle, daughter, Brenda Baldwin of Farmville, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, brother Joseph Baldwin of Rice, and sister, Mazie Ellis of Glenn Allen, Virgina.

Charles was a quiet man with a quiet sense of humor, who loved his family, a clean car, his lawnmower, and his shoes spotless.

Graveside services will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice VA, Tuesday, Sept. 2, 11:00a.m.

Family will receive friends at Shorter’s Funeral Home, Farmville, VA, Sept. 1, 6:00-8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chippenham Vascular Unit or donations to Shorter’s Funeral Home in Honor of Charles E. Baldwin Sr.
