Dorothy Phillips

Mrs. Dorothy Wright Phillips age 70 of Burkeville, VA passed away Saturday October 6, 2012 at her residence. She loved to go to her granddaughter’s horse shows. She is survived by; her son Edward Allen Phillips, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Rice, VA, granddaughter Dawn Hicks and her husband Richard and great granddaughter Rachel Jean Hicks all of Cumberland VA , two brothers; Charles “Billy” William Wright and Joseph “Son” Reed Wright, Jr., one sister Eva Mae Smith, special friends Evelyn Moody, Lisa Downey, Ted Carter, John and Sarah Hurst.  She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Allen Phillips, Sr. and her sister Mary Virginia Wright. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday October 10, 2012 in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home 1905 S. Main Street Farmville, VA with interment to follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
