Edwina Nieuwland

Edwina Amaral (Wickizer) Nieuwland, 96, of Dillwyn died on April 18, 2018.  She was born February 21, 1922 in Freixiosa, Portugal.  She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Amaral.  She immigrated to the United States when she was 8 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Wickizer and Paul Nieuwland; her son, Tony Wickizer and her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bruce Walker.

She is survived by her sons, Dan (Mona) Wickizer of Farmville, VA and Dale (Barbara) Wickizer of Springfield, VA; her daughter-in-law, Della Wickizer of Dillwyn, VA; 10 grandchildren; numerous great  and great- great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the chapel of the funeral home with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
