Elizabeth Benhoff

December 2, 1910 — January 6, 2012

Elizabeth Slayton (Foster) Benhoff, aged 101, passed away on January 6th. after an extended illness. She was born in Fairfax County, December 2, 1910. Her husband , William Henry Benhoff, Jr. passed away November 7, 1997. On Benny’s retirement, in 1975, they relocated from the DCMETRO area to Prospect, Virginia, where they were active in the Prospect United Methodist Church. Elizabeth was an accomplished quilter and an ardent gardener. She was residing at the Woodlands Community in Farmville, Virginia.

She is survived by her children: Maxine Shute, William Benhoff  III and Bonnie Nash;  her grandchildren Bonnie Shute, Robin Judy, Terry Potter, Charles Benhoff, David Benhoff, Elizabeth McAndrew, Michael Nash and Steven Nash: and 16 great grandchildren

The funeral service was conducted by  Rev. Louis Liotta, the  Woodlands Chaplain, at the Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, Virginia, at 1pm on January 9th. She was interred beside her husband at Trinity Memorial Gardens in nearby Rice, Virginia.

Following the gravesite service, a reception was be held at the Hampton Inn, in Farmville.
