Elizabeth Bloodworth Meekins, 92, died July 17, 2009 . A native of Norfolk, she was the youngest daughter of the late William and Emma Bloodworth.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roy C. Meekins Sr. and five siblings William, Evelyn, Hunter, Robah and Jesse Bloodworth.
Survivors include her brother Marcus Bloodworth; sons Roy C. Meekins Jr. and wife Charlotte, William E. Meekins and wife Mary. Affectionately referred to as "Mamie" by the children; she had 4 grandchildren, Kathie Rhodes, Jennifer Barrs, Janet Brown, Raquel Wendland; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Elizabeth's wishes, in lieu of services, the family has donated her body to Eastern Virginia Medical School for the advancement of medical science.
Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville is serving the family.
