Fleta Motley

Fleta Allen Motley 91 of Farmville, VA died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.  She was born on August 25, 1925 in Sevierville, Tennessee to the late Dallas C. and Esta L. Allen.

Fleta worked many years at Farmer’s Supply Company until they closed then was employed at Ayers Building and Supply Company until 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Joseph Motley and her brother James Allen and his wife Hazel and her brother Otis Dee Allen.  She is survived by her children: Beverly and Lynn Ayers and Terry and Kathy Motley.  In addition she is survived by her grandchildren: Scott and Amy Ayers, Amy and Britt Harris,  Shane and Linda Ayers, Tina Motley and Stacy Ayers as well as 6 great grandchildren: Ashley Ayers, Tessa Ayers, Austin Ayers, Jordyn Harris, Tyler Harris and Ashton Ayers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening February 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Shorter Funeral Home, 1905 S. Main Street in Farmville, VA.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Shorter Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Worsham Baptist Church Cemetery.
