Frances Cartwright Moore passed away on Oct 6, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William C. Moore, her brother Walter Cartwright Jr and sister Audrey Mae Horne.
She is survived by her son Wayne (Lorrie), grandchildren Benjamin (Kelsey), Timothy (Megan), 4 great grandchildren Brooks, Adalyn, Stryder and Memphis and her sister-in-law Beth Richardson (Randolph), several nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1955, she then attended Longwood College where she achieved her bachelors and master’s degree in teaching. She was one of the first teachers at Prince Edward Academy (Fuque School) and taught for 40+ years. She then worked as a secretary at Longwood until 2025. She was a 50+ year life member of the Eastern Star, Robert Morris Chapter and a lifelong member of Beulah Methodist Church. She was loved by many students and touched their lives. She was a teacher and then a friend through life. She was a devoted Christian and lived her faith. She loved her husband so much and now they can celebrate together.
