George Henry Womack, 95, of the Five Forks community of Pamplin, , passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at his home.
Born in Abilene, December 1, 1915 to the late Henry L. and Elto Swann Womack, he was a life-long farmer and a U S Army Air Corps veteran of World War II where he served as an aircraft mechanic.
Mr. Womack is survived by his wife, Dorothy Womack, sons, William Womack and Henry Womack and wife Sheila all of Pamplin, and three grandchildren, Thomas Henry Womack and wife, Jessica, William Earl Womack and Jennifer Lee Womack.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 11, 2011 in the chapel of the Shorter Funeral Home of Farmville. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
