Gerald Whaley

Gerald Whaley age 88 of Cumberland, VA passed away Sunday, November 30 ,2014 in Farmville, with family at his bedside.

He was a retired farmer and served his country in the United States Army.

He was born may 23 ^rd, 1926 to the late James and Sally Whaley. He was preceded in death by his wife Ada H. Whaley.

He is survived by  two sons; Gerald Lynn Whaley,(significant other Lynda Worsham) of Goochland,Ernest William Whaley (Magaret) of Cumberland, three daughters; Martha Diane Hedrick (Ralph) of  Prince Edward, Karen Ann Ridenour (Terry) of Tenn, Sharon E. Franklin (Allen) of Cumberland, three sisters; Evelyn Hardiman (Lynburg) of Dillwyn, Wanda Sue Mundy (Peter) of West Point, Christine Sloan of Cumberland, ten grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM – 7:00PM prior to service on Wednesday. A graveside service  will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 11:00AM in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA.
