Herbert Glenn Johnson

Herbert Glenn Johnson, age 79, of Farmville, VA, passed away on March 11, 2026 in Henrico, VA. He was born on July 6, 1946 at Farmville Hospital to the late George F. and Margie Carson Price Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter and George Johnson and one granddaughter Brianna Nicole Johnson.

He is survived by his son Herbert Glenn Johnson Jr (Janet) of Midlothian, VA, his devoted sister Doris Johnson Scruggs (Kerry) of Midlothian, VA and sister-in-law Rachel Johnson of Blackstone, VA. Herbert had five nieces and one nephew.

In Farmville, he held several jobs, one being a dispatcher for the Farmville Police Department. After living in Farmville for many years, he moved to the Aable Rest Home in Cumberland, VA. In Cumberland, he spent much of his time making friends and helping others. Herbert loved to play the VA Lottery and could often be seen walking to the local store to get his daily winnings.

Herbert will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing and being with his family and friends. He taught three of his nieces how to fish and will be missed greatly.

A viewing will be held on March 17, 2026 at 1:30PM - 2:30PM at Shorter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on March 17, 2026 at 3:00PM at Pamplin Community Cemetery. Shorter Funeral Home
