Joyce Ann Slayton

Joyce Ann Slayton 91 of Hopewell, VA passed away on September 27, 2026.

She was born on September 16, 1935 to the late Grace Southall Carter and Jasper Selden Carter. She was married to Jerry L. Slayton, who preceded her in death along with her step father Hobart M. Lang, her brother Charlie Carter, sons Robert A. Slayton, Charles L. Slayton, daughter in law F. Diane Slayton and son in law James H. Amick. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Slayton Amick, grand daughter Jennifer S. Lloyd (Jeff), grandsons Braden and Landon Maxwell.

Joyce was a great cook and homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, talking on the phone and paper towels. She was always smiling and will be greatly missed.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 11:00AM at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
