Lavern Whaley Ownby, 94, of Cumberland, Virginia , went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 12, 2020.Lavern was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Martha Whaley, brothers, Arlie, Loy, Charlie, Ed, and Hayes Whaley, sister, Grace Speas, a daugther in law, Mary Ownby, and her husband of 74 years, Clyde Ownby.She is survived by her son, Clyde Carlton Ownby, a granddaughter, Jessica Ownby, a great granddaugther, Presley Ownby, and many neices and nephews.A Graveside Service will be held 11:00a.m. Monday, November 16, 2020 at Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland, Virginia.
