Leona Watson

Leona May Watson, 86 of Farmville passed away, Saturday, May 28, 2011.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Black and husband, David of Farmville, son, Roy A. Watson, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Cumberland, sister, Wanda Hessenberger of Knoxville, TN, grandchildren, David Reese Black and wife, Cheryl of Minot, ND, Troy J. Black and wife, Sharon of Farmville, Ashley W. Dawson and Husband, Randy of Dillwyn and Krissie Watson of Cumberland and great-grandchildren, Travis Black, Cheyanne Black, Austin Black, Mia Black, Kaylee Tyson, Cody Francisco, Chase Francisco and Harley Edwards.

She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Robert and Essie Lawson Sise. She served during World War II as a machinist in Oakridge, TN and was member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 30, 2011 in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
