Louise Bethel

Louise Asal Bethel, 90 of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in Dillwyn.  She was born March 29, 1922 to the late Phillip and Mary Brink Asal.  She was retired from Cumberland Public Schools Cafeteria department.  She was the widow of Wesley D. Bethel.  Louise loved ballgames and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, George C. Meinhard, Jr. (Carol) of Cumberland and Claude B. Meinhard (Lisa) also of Cumberland, her grandchildren; Tracy Nelson (Steve) of Cumberland, Claudia Meinhard (Mark) of Farmville, William Troy Meinhard (Luci) of Cumberland, Keith B. Meinhard (Stacy) of Buckingham, Shannon F. Britt (Steve) of Wytheville, VA,  Brandon Todd Meinhard (Megan) of Cumberland and Robert B. Meinhard (Kathy) of Cumberland and her 13 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her 5 sisters.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 2:00pm at Tar Wallet Baptist Church in Cumberland with interment in the church cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2013 6:00-8:00pm at the Shorter Funeral Home.  Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
