Marie Borum

Marie E. Borum, 88 of Burkeville, VA passed away on February 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert A. Borum, her mother Minnie Elliott, her father T. Elliott and her sister Hilda Deekens.

Marie and Robert A. Borum was married for 59 years. Marie and Robert Asa's life purpose together included caring for others, which they always did so willingly.

Her hobbies included; beautiful ceramic work treasured by family and friends. For the last years Marie lived with her son Robbie and his wife Gayle, who tenderly cared for her as her health declined.

She graduated from Smithdeal-Massey Business College in 1950 and worked at State Corporation Commision in Richmond for nearly 30 years.

She is survived by her son Robert A. Borum Jr. and wife Gayle , grandchildren Robert C. Borum and Crystal G. Borum. She had 3 great grandchildren; Braxton, Tyler and Wyatt Borum. She had 2 sisters Sandra J. Osborne (Bill) and Joey Isoacs (Larry). She had 8 nieces and nephews.

We would also like to say thank you to the Asera Care Hospice for the wonderful care that Marie received from them.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Burkeville Baptist Church.

Memory of Marie will always be cherished by her family and friends.

Marie was a member of Burkeville Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:30PM at Burkeville Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow starting at 2:00PM at the church with interment to follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville VA.

Friends and family are invited to a reception at Burkeville Baptist Church in Marie's honor.
