Richard Shaffer

Richard Allen Shaffer, 55 died at his home in Rice on Saturday, April 14, 2018 after a long illness.

After his graduation from Amelia High School he served in the United States Army with most of his tour being spent in Germany. Returning home he joined his family’s business, Shaffer’s Automotive in Amelia where he was employed until his illness.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Hagopian Shaffer of Rice, three children; Jeffery, Marissa and Jessica Shaffer of Amelia, parents Glen and Donna Shaffer of Rice and siblings; Crystal Brown of Amelia, Sandra Pitts (Kenneth) of South Hill, Kathy McMillion of Richmond and Kevin Shaffer of Amelia.

A celebration of life will be held for Richard on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Amelia County Veterans Center, 16440 Five Forks RD, Amelia, VA from 5:00PM – 7:00PM.
