Robert Laird

March 30, 1928 — February 1, 2017

Robert (Bob) Joseph Laird, of Farmville VA, passed away on February 1, 2017. He is survived by his wife Ruth, sons William and Robert, and daughter Ellen.

Bob is remembered by his service to his country in the US Navy during World War II, and for establishing a highly-regarded printing business in the post-war years. He was an expert bowler and enjoyed woodworking and scale-model ship building.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 1:00PM at Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA. Family will receive friends from 11:00AM - 12:00noon in the chapel of Shorter Funeral Home in Farmville, VA.
