Roger Earl Allen age 63 of Prospect,Va.passed way on Friday April 8Th.He was born May 28,1952 in Prince Edward Co.

to and later preceded in death by his father Roderick Earl Allen and mother Barbara Laverne Franklin.Mr Allen was a founding member of the bluegrass band Allens Mill,named after his great-grandfathers water powered grist mill in Prospect.The band brought joy to many within the commonwealth over years.Rogers love of life,music,friends and family will be cherished by all blessed to have crossed paths with him in his life.A celebration of life will be Saturday April 23 at a private residence .Interment will be at the Prospect United Methodist Cemetery.Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
