Ruby Mae Shaver “Meme” Connatser age 90 of Dillwyn, VA returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the farm she loved so much. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her and gave her peace.
Ruby was a homemaker and her kitchen became the meeting place of family and friends, especially those in search of her renowned biscuits, that no one has ever been able to duplicate, and her milk gravy. If you were able to sit at her table and partake of the biscuits and gravy, you would truly know why this is included in her obituary. She will always be remembered for her great fortitude, quick wit and her love of family.
She leaves behind two daughters; Patricia Mae Mize (Dennis), Mallie Susan Maham (Gordon), six grandchildren; Tim Mize, Debbie Green (Wesley), Sherry Robleto, Scott Connatser, Amy Irvin, Sarah Jessie (Jim), fourteen great grandchildren; Kayleigh Mize, Joshua (Vanilla), Cody, Cheyenne, Justice, Noah and Hope Greene, Macie, Logan and Bailey Irvin, Hannah, Grace and Caroline Jessie and Kiara Robleto, three great great grandchildren; Jarmaine, Junior and Jayden Greene.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years James Glenn Connatser, her son Jerry Connatser and her brother Claude Shaver.
She is survived by her sister Kathryn Causby of Shelby N.C. and a step brother Waitsell Gwaltney of Powhatan, VA.
