Listen to Obituary

Suzanne F Zidziunas Davis, affectionately known as “Sue” to many, passed peacefully in her

home surrounded by loved ones on January 21, 2026. After a courageous and hard-fought

battle with brain cancer, Sue found rest and peace. She was diagnosed with glioblastoma in

November 2024 and faced her journey with strength, grace, and unwavering resilience.

Sue was born on February 2, 1961, in Newport News, Virginia, to Patricia and William Zidziunas.

In 1975, she moved with her family to the Kansas City metropolitan area, where she later

graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School, Class of 1979.

She married the love of her life, Earl Joseph Davis Jr., in 1983, and together they built a life

rooted in love, family, and devotion. Sue spent most of her years in Versailles, Missouri, where

she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and caring for the animals she

loved so deeply. In 2013, Sue relocated to Southwest Florida, and in March of 2025, she settled

into her forever home in Prospect, Virginia.

Sue will be remembered for her tenacious spirit, vivacious laughter, and her remarkable ability

to find light even in the most difficult circumstances. She lived her life with grace and kindness,

leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Joseph Davis Jr.; her parents, William

J. and Patricia M. Zidziunas; and her son, Joshua Earl Davis.

Sue is survived by her children: Matthew (Cassie) of Wellington, KS; Padraig of the home,

Jackson (Bryson) of Tipton, MO; and Ryan (Maria) of Kansas City, KS; her daughter-in-law,

Jessica of the home; her 13 grandchildren; her 2 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; her

siblings, Michael and Eileen, as well as many other relatives.

While her physical pain and suffering have come to an end, Sue’s love, strength, and beautiful

soul will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished her.

Donations can be made in her honor to your favorite animal rescue.
