Mrs. Virginia Ruth Griffin age 82 of Cumberland, VA passed away Monday December 7, 2009 in Farmville, VA. She was the widow of the Reverend Jess Griffin. She is survived by Daughters; Phyllis Ann Meinhard of Buckingham, VA, Patricia Ann Armes (Walter) of Cumberland, VA, her Sons; James Allen Griffin of Cumberland, VA, Billy Joe Griffin (Susan) of Richmond, VA, David L. Griffin (June) of Powhatan, VA; 11 Grandchildren and 26 Great-Grandchildren; her sister Novella Berry of Elizabethton, TN Funeral Services were conducted 11:00 AM Thursday December 10, 2009 at Prospect Gospel Tabernacle Prospect, VA with interment in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.
